Sea Witch Encounter

Well, Christmas was great, as always.  Balthazar and I just kind of relaxed and enjoyed the day...then yesterday was so odd.

It all started out with me just looking at some baby pictures of Balthazar in my cave with him.  He was smaller than many may think.  Very cute.  Especially when he would inhale with all his might, and then cough out a little puff of smoke and sigh...

Anyway, we decided to go to the beach, so I got on his back, and we took off.  We have a secret, magical cove that we always go to.  It was relatively warm and clear at first, but then a dark shadow was cast over the land, and fog impaired the view ahead.
A chill was in the air.

Peering through the mist, I was able to see a figure.  It was a young woman dressed in white, with long, stringy dark hair.  In her hand was a lamp.  The white dress she wore was a lovely one, and intriguing, but less than friendly.  She obviously possessed the magic that had caused the mist and the dark.  I could see that she was a witch.  I turned to Balthazar, tempted to quote Monty Python, but decided against it.

The witch seemed to go about her business, never looking at us.   She waded through the tide pools until she was nearly out of sight--swallowed by the mist--then she turned around to face us.  Her face was as white as her dress, and her features blended in so much that all I could see from where I was were her almost glowing green eyes.  The mist hid her from view once more, and then within a short moment, it cleared, and she was but five feet away from me.  She reached out and handed me a hairbrush.  I was pretty sure that she needed it more than I did, but I took it anyway.  I was about to ask why she had given me the object when I noticed that I could see her face clearly now.  Her mouth formed a ghoulish grin, and then she began to laugh like a maniac.  Balthazar and I both recoiled from the sound.

The crazy lady walked away, back into the mist, still laughing.  I decided it was time to leave the beach.

In Almost Regular Life, I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special, which was perfect, and horrible at the same time.  Eleven's departure was very sad, but summed him up perfectly.  He didn't go whining like Ten either.  I liked the tenth Doctor, but that was a little annoying.  Anyway, I don't want to spoil anything, even though nobody reads this.  It was an awesome episode, and I think it was the best regeneration of the entire show so far.

     The soundtrack was also fantastic.

I have also discovered the game Dominion, which is kind of addicting...and I've been wanting to try baking these strawberry chocolate chip cookies, but I don't have the ingredients...so sad.  They look so fun.

     Seriously,

Christmas Eve

So, it's Christmas Eve, therefore Balthazar and I have been having a lot of fun.  Using magic, I made us match the season, casting a winter spell on both of us.  We flew around the mountain of Acer (don't try to find it) and decided to decorate it.  It was a very enjoyable experience.

Balthazar isn't usually very fond of the cold, but he is able to keep pretty warm when he needs to.  This is usually pretty practical, but it is a problem when he keeps melting ice and snow all over the place.

While we were on the mountain, we were visited by some ice fairies.  I don't see fairies too often, but when I do, most of them get along with Balthazar quite well, as he is a peaceful dragon, but for reasons that are understandable, these fairies aren't as happy about his presence.  They were very cross about him melting some of the ice and snow, and one of them flew up and kicked is nose.  of course, this didn't hurt him, but it made him a little sad.  He's a very young dragon, and still quite sensitive.  I politely asked the fairies to leave him alone, and told them that we would be on our way, but they started tugging on my hair.  Feisty little creatures, they are.  Balthazar didn't like this one bit.  All he had to do was inhale loudly and the fairies backed away.  Balthazar and I finished up some final touches on the mountain, and then we were off.

No orc attacks today.  Perhaps they will let me get through Christmas without having to kill them all.

I also traveled back to Victorian London briefly.  Balthazar didn't want to come.  he hates struggling to fit into the TARDIS door.  It's awkward when he's half way through, as the inside is bigger.

In almost regular life, I always open one present on Christmas Eve, and this year that present was a pair of these amazing unicorn slippers.  They are so delightfully fluffy.
I also watched A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is great.  Most people don't know that the entire thing was written in a week, and created very quickly.  It also got very poor reviews before it went on TV.  Critics were surprised when it was the second most watched show the week it was released 1965, beaten only by Bonanza.

Anyway...Merry Christmas!

Greetings

Hello, one who has decided to read my blog, (you may very well be the only one.)  I was very bored, and decided to create a blog with my pet dragon, Balthazar.

I found my dragon's egg long ago in the forest after defeating an army of orcs.  See, I was once an elf of Rivendell, but then due to a breach in the universe between realities (and a few of the Doctor's shenanigans) I ended up here...but it's not so bad.  I actually have some pretty awesome friends and...books and things.

I will post things about both my dragon's adventures, and my own.  It will be fun.

 Seriously,
