Sea Witch Encounter

Well, Christmas was great, as always.  Balthazar and I just kind of relaxed and enjoyed the day...then yesterday was so odd.

It all started out with me just looking at some baby pictures of Balthazar in my cave with him.  He was smaller than many may think.  Very cute.  Especially when he would inhale with all his might, and then cough out a little puff of smoke and sigh...

Anyway, we decided to go to the beach, so I got on his back, and we took off.  We have a secret, magical cove that we always go to.  It was relatively warm and clear at first, but then a dark shadow was cast over the land, and fog impaired the view ahead.
A chill was in the air.

Peering through the mist, I was able to see a figure.  It was a young woman dressed in white, with long, stringy dark hair.  In her hand was a lamp.  The white dress she wore was a lovely one, and intriguing, but less than friendly.  She obviously possessed the magic that had caused the mist and the dark.  I could see that she was a witch.  I turned to Balthazar, tempted to quote Monty Python, but decided against it.

The witch seemed to go about her business, never looking at us.   She waded through the tide pools until she was nearly out of sight--swallowed by the mist--then she turned around to face us.  Her face was as white as her dress, and her features blended in so much that all I could see from where I was were her almost glowing green eyes.  The mist hid her from view once more, and then within a short moment, it cleared, and she was but five feet away from me.  She reached out and handed me a hairbrush.  I was pretty sure that she needed it more than I did, but I took it anyway.  I was about to ask why she had given me the object when I noticed that I could see her face clearly now.  Her mouth formed a ghoulish grin, and then she began to laugh like a maniac.  Balthazar and I both recoiled from the sound.

The crazy lady walked away, back into the mist, still laughing.  I decided it was time to leave the beach.

In Almost Regular Life, I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special, which was perfect, and horrible at the same time.  Eleven's departure was very sad, but summed him up perfectly.  He didn't go whining like Ten either.  I liked the tenth Doctor, but that was a little annoying.  Anyway, I don't want to spoil anything, even though nobody reads this.  It was an awesome episode, and I think it was the best regeneration of the entire show so far.

     The soundtrack was also fantastic.

I have also discovered the game Dominion, which is kind of addicting...and I've been wanting to try baking these strawberry chocolate chip cookies, but I don't have the ingredients...so sad.  They look so fun.

     Seriously,
